Information about Stenhus Housing (Stenhus Gymnasium’s boarding school)
Stenhus Gymnasium has been an IB World School since December 2016. We are situated in the city of Holbæk. As a student at Stenhus Gymnasium you will have very easy access to Copenhagen and to Copenhagen Airport. From Holbæk Station it takes approximately 40 minutes by fast train to Copenhagen Central Station.
Many of our international students stay in our student housing (boarding school). We have approximately 60 places: 40 rooms are single rooms and 10 rooms are double rooms.
On the 1st August 2024 the Danish Ministry of Education officially approved Stenhus Gymnasium’s boarding school application. This approval gives us the security to continue to run a boarding school for our students.
How to apply
Please note that you cannot apply to the boarding school until you have been accepted into the Pre-IB or the IB Diploma Programme. On the Pre-IB or IB online application form you will have the opportunity to indicate that you would like to live at the boarding school. Once you have been accepted into the educational programme, we will send you further information about the boarding school.
The Boarding School Fee
Whereas there is no tuition fee for the international programme at Stenhus, you do have to pay a fee to cover the cost of your accommodation, food, supervision, etc if you decide to live at the boarding school.
On the 1st August 2024 we reduced the monthly boarding school fee from 7.000 kroner to 6.000 kroner per month.
The fee covers:
- A furnished room
- Maintenance and cleaning of all common areas
- All your meals seven days a week
- Amenities – electricity, water, internet, etc.
- Joint trips and social activities
- Adult Supervision
The monthly fee is due for 11 months of the year – you do not pay for the month of July as the boarding school is closed for the summer holiday in July.
